All Things Green Market Day

The Stellenbosch Slow Market is holding an All Things Green Market Day, on Saturday, 17 June from 9am to 2pm at the Oude Libertas Estate, to promote awareness of local, sustainable solutions to modern-day concerns like water stress, ocean plastics and an increasingly unhealthy diet. Expect to find greywater systems, eco-worm farms, hanging water wise plants, organic household and skin care ranges, recycled and upcycled furniture.

The market, which has been operating continuously for more than a decade, has over 100 traders, all of which will be there, selling fresh, artisan breads, German cakes, organic vegetables and delicious streetfood. In keeping with the theme there will be green smoothies, green macarons, cupcakes and veggie burgers!

As a special feature, the Earthbound Wine Lounge will be collaborating with Me Granny's Soup, to create a soup and wine pairing. Folks can warm themselves before the huge hearth and chat over a glass of wine, while the kids play in a well-stocked playground.

With Father’s Day at hand it is the perfect opportunity to buy your dad gifts, food, wine, and some organic biltong from the famous Stokkiesdraai biltong artisans. Do the Green Thing and come to the Market.

The Slow Market is a reinvention of the public market place and aims to support small businesses marginalised by mainstream retail. It is community orientated and well-loved in Stellenbosch where it has been established as a leading gourmet market.

The Slow Market, is an “all weather market” and its indoor venue and tents, provide for a perfect outing, despite rainy weather. There will be no fee for entering the market, as per usual, and ample parking will be available.
